Terms of Service
Effective date: July 12, 2026
These terms are a plain-language agreement between you and Adriano Fiuza, the independent developer of Atlas (“the app”). By creating an account or using Atlas, you agree to them. Questions: support@atlasapp.so.
What Atlas is
Atlas is a personal productivity app, with tasks, notes, journaling, and focus sessions, and optional sync across your devices. It is built and maintained by one person.
Your account
- You need a valid email address to create an account and use sync.
- Keep your credentials safe; you are responsible for activity under your account.
- You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your region).
Your content
- You own your content. Everything you create in Atlas, including tasks, notes, journal entries, focus statistics, and attachments, remains yours.
- To make the app work, you grant Atlas the limited technical permission to store, transmit, and process your content solely to provide the service (syncing it between your devices, backing it up on the sync infrastructure, exporting it when you ask).
- Atlas claims no other rights over your content and does not use it for advertising, training, or resale.
- You are responsible for what you store. Don’t use Atlas to store or distribute content that is illegal or that infringes someone else’s rights.
Honest limitations you should know
- Content syncs through Supabase-hosted infrastructure and is not end-to-end encrypted. The “lock” feature protects content on your device only. See the Privacy Policy for details.
- Atlas is a productivity tool, not a guaranteed system of record. Keep exports of anything critical (Settings includes a data export).
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- attempt to access other users’ data or probe, disrupt, or overload the service;
- reverse the service’s security or rate limits, or use the sync backend for anything other than the app’s intended use;
- use Atlas for unlawful purposes.
Availability and changes
- Atlas is provided “as is” and “as available.” As a solo-developed product, features may change, be added, or be removed, and occasional downtime or bugs can happen.
- Reasonable efforts are made to keep the service running and your data intact, but uninterrupted service and zero data loss cannot be promised. Again: use the export feature for anything you cannot afford to lose.
Termination
- By you: you can stop using Atlas at any time, and the in-app Delete Account option permanently removes your account and all synced data.
- By the developer: accounts that abuse the service, break these terms, or threaten the infrastructure may be suspended or terminated. If the service is ever discontinued, reasonable advance notice will be given so you can export your data.
Disclaimers and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Atlas is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose.
- The developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of the app.
- Total liability for any claim related to the app is limited to the amount you paid for Atlas in the 12 months before the claim (which may be zero).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms removes consumer rights that the law says cannot be waived.
Privacy
How data is handled is described in the Atlas Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms. The short version: no ads, no third-party analytics or tracking, no sale of data; basic first-party usage statistics stay in Atlas’s own database.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change materially, the updated version will be published with a new effective date and noted in the app or release notes. Continuing to use Atlas after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Brazil, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
